Suburbs

If you're looking for something a little different there are any amount of fine restaurants on the outskirts of Galway. These are usually quieter and more sedate that the restaurants in town, and they generally cultivate a more relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. Ample car parking facilities are always available. The Westwood, on the Newcastle Road and The Huntsman on the Dublin Road are recommended. A few of the suburban hotels offer a similar, high quality standard of food and service: The Corrib Great Southern on the Dublin road and The Ardilaun in Taylor's Hill are good examples.
