Visit the Athenry Arts & Heritage Centre in the medieval walled town of Athenry, and experience a fun-filled day for all the family. Picturesquely set amidst the ruins of the 13th century medieval collegiate church, the Centre is an ideal focal point for the town's many medieval artefacts and monuments. Learn about life in Norman Ireland by dressing up in period costume, demonstrating with authentic medieval weaponry and seeing a real medieval market square. Younger children will enjoy a visit to our medieval puppet theatre. The Centre is also the home of the town's original mace and seal dated c1320. Outside in our adjacent walled garden, have a go at traditional archery with fully trained instructors, play other medieval games and try the challenge of our new maze.
